Culture, music, fashion, games, movies, technology have been frozen since 9/11. You drop someone from 2002 into 2022 and they would be fine. A person from 2025 would fit into 2005. But take a person from 2002 and put them in 1992, they would be lost. No cell phones, no mainstream Internet, no easy weed access, etc. each previous decade had it's own identity: the Roaring 20s, the Great Depression, WW2, the Cold War, hippies, cocaine and disco, cocaine and Wall St, and the final decade the 90s.
