@light It is in no way immoral to share a copy of a publicly available book.

For releasing a work, an author really should only get paid once and if they want more money, they should write another book - nobody deserves a lifetime of receiving money just because they once wrote a book.

While there are scamming publishers don't pay authors anything unless copies of a book are sold a ludicrous amount of times and nets huge publisher profit, the solution isn't to demand that everyone separately pay the publisher, merely to get a copy of the book.

For profit book publishers should be eliminated, as those serve no useful purpose anymore.
