Obviously, I didn't read the book, so maybe "Be slightly evil" means something else, but I think there is absolutely no reason to be evil. "Geeks" (to borrow terminology from the article) do not lose because they are not evil. They lose because they don't want to be in charge, and nature fills the vacuum with grifters and sociopaths.
