Wahiawa Dam has not failed. The system continues to operate as designed. The dam has been continuously monitored, and there are no signs of damage. The dam remains stable and structurally sound.
Reservoir levels rose above 85 feet, triggering a mandatory evacuation order under established precautionary safety protocols, and have since been trending downward, with recent readings at 83.20 feet. These thresholds are intentionally conservative and based on the time required to safely evacuate downstream areas; they do not reflect a loss of structural integrity.
