schnedan@darnell its true that defence spending and production with Apollo, Space Shuttle,... being also defence projects, have stabilized the US and prevented to fall back to pre WWII poverty. (Of course backed by a strong dollar and the ability to sell debts to finance the cardhouse).
No need to tell also that modern chip technology was at most financed by the US defence system. So silicon valley would not exist without it.
The question is: how long that scheme will continue to work?
Quadruple production means high costs. somebody needs to pay for that with real money or debts.
