@suquili So far my chips are placed more towards "nothingburger" because the zog coal-ition entered desperately short on ordnance to begin with, and there's no way to "finish the job" other than making "deals" that will not hold up in time.
Basically this same "war" will play out a few more times until something decidedly breaks, whenever and whatever that is.
The variables it introduces COULD lead to bigger things: Will the US start rolling up bases in the ME? Will they have the bankers on board with industrializing the home front in order to actually manufacture things in the quantities needed for imperial aims? Will the arab states shake up their relationships now that actual blood and powder is being exchanged?
It's all the kind of stuff that moves the timeline slowly at its usual creeping pace. We're all just so excited to see HISTORY™ as we understand it, where years pass in weeks. But it's like an earthquake, lots of pressure has to build up along those faultlines for eons before it finally groans and slips to relief.
