I listened to a podcast just before Covid talking about all the improvements to landownership and general quality of life for peasants who survived the Black Death in England. Of course in 2026, instead of letting nature take its course, we shut everything down and spent 10 trillion dollars developing and deploying vaccines instead of letting the old die and allowing their hoarded wealth to be redistributed.
