Hi dude, so happy for you going to visit your daughter in Tokyo.
Been there quiet a while ago and the strongest memory I have from this city was the obnoxious price of almost everything.
I used to go to uni in the Roppongi neighborhood known to be rocket high prices but I needed to live in another neighborhood, Ikebukuro, 45 mn away from my uni so I could rent a 8 square meters room in a shared flat...650$.
I really hope your daughter will know cheaper places and old fashioned tiny spots where you can enjoy their absolutely delicious food.
I really loved the city though, this incredible mix of top modernism and traditional tiny houses. Some houses/business small houses had the car parked inside the corridor and they still could close the door behind it.
Coming back to Paris was like making a time travel of a century behind, my city looked so outdated compared to the modernity of Tokyo.
BTW, don't you dare traveling to UK or Germany without making a hook to visit me, I'd be very, very upset ;-)
Anyway, have a wonderful time sharing rich moments and filling your heart with as much good memories you can with your daughter.
