@smugumin @Hoss @WhitestTemplar Another way of looking at is that optional items had to compete on price and so went down while mandatory "buy this or literally die" items skyrocketed because what are you going to do, die?

This is obviously not a good look for the "free market" as a magical solution to all problems.
