Some are physical (shielding), some are hardware (e.g. ECC RAM), some are software, for instance, maximizing the Hamming distance between the possible values of a variable or implementing some additional self-correcting redundancy for critical data. This could be a reason that a single make and model would be affected, as not all models share the same software (or in this case software version).
