It wasn't meant as a social model it is a counterexample to the claim that reproduction is what motivates white men to work hard and make civilization.

The point is the nesting instinct exists in many species independently of polygyny or not. One could just as easily argue a polygynous king vanquishing entire enemy tribes, i.e. "turning into a trooper" but 10x
