Adam Katz@mattl vim puts swap files for unnamed files in the working directory (typically ~ if you tend to launch gvim via keyboard shortcut) named .swp then decrementing: .swo, n, m, l, k, etc. I'm not sure what happens after .swa (.swz?), but I do currently have a ~/.swa on one of my systems...
