Dependencies will still suck no matter what because Winblows library managementbis a nightmare, and on top of that tou'll deal with a GNU system that has baked DRM, mandatory online account and a filesystem where compiling isn't a thing unless you start hacking your way around it with virtual filesystems, and then you'll have to build appimages to get them working on the host filesystem.


The way to not deal with the display server not sucking is to pick X11 and a DE that works fine with it. I'm baffled so many losers keep having issues with display management, just pick X11 and a non-retarded DE, it's a no-brainer, it just works, I never once had issues with X11, even on broken-by-design distributions like Arch it always worked, even on tge PS4 which requires hacking the mesa driver X11 just works.
