resisting while under an oppressor's power doesn't get you very far: unless the oppressor is really dumb, your resistance is noticed, and then you're sidelined to positions in which you may feel like you can still do a little, where you wear yourself out accomplishing little and self-censoring to avoid getting caught. defeating an oppressive system from the inside is probably no more than a nice illusion. operating from the outside deprives you from the little power the oppressor chooses to give you inside, but it's probably far more effective in the long run.
