@deprecated_ii I knew a contractor when I was in Afghanistan who put together a solar powered jammer detection system built from a remote control garage door opener, a horn and some strobe lights. Too many idiots kept coming on to the base without shutting off their jammers, so we needed a way to detect it and stop them because it fucked our base comms.
The MIC assholes were proposing some system with a bunch of extra bullshit we didn’t need, and each unit was gonna be over a million dollars and take a few years to develop. IIRC he wound up building several of these things. As long as you kept the dust off the solar panel they worked great.
Last I heard from the guy he was working for a lab experimenting with some sort of fusion.
