It's actually hard to get with someone the older you get. I've seen this with clients who are remarried etc. Their relationship are much dryer and contractual than high school sweethearts.

The primary factor is that when you've been with someone since youth, you made things together and share a history. When you get with someone later, there's two separate lives, asset pools, and histories. There's no shared struggle. It's kinda sad tbh.
