GrapheneOS@Suiseiseki Pinephones are closed source hardware with closed source firmware. However, it's very outdated and far lower security hardware and firmware with lack of proper firmware updates. It's primarily used to run a much less private and secure software stack on top. It's unable to protect users from far more basic attacks. It's the opposite of what we want to build with GrapheneOS. It does not avoid closed source hardware or code. It's making huge sacrifices but is still closed source.
