    I mean, I’m at least dimly aware of the fraught relationship in the armed services between body weight, fitness, and treatment of soldiers.

    But is it not unprecedented for units to tell soldiers straight up they cannot be in the crowd a public event if they look “fat” for the cameras? I guess maybe it is, and I’ve been naive….
