Since Apple is a trend setter, the whole UI redesign might be a good thing. I'm quite tired of the whole Material design taken to its logical extreme. I liked Material design first came out and still like the first iteration of it and I will probably still use themes made around it, but it turned into something really ugly with the new Android versions and accelerated the "logo simplification" craze which is progressively getting worse.
