@SuperSnekFriend @BowsacNoodle @WeissenSocken88 While Lee was a military genius he had his share of mistakes (Gettysburg, etc.). And Grant was also not an incapable general in his own right either. His campaigns in Chattanooga and the rest of the "western" theater showed him to be a skilled commander.
If anything the recognition that many of the Union generals were actually decent demonstrates the particular skill of Lee in the face of such opposition.
