Jörg Henne@skinnylatte @humanadverb wild speculation: I would assume that small parasites are easily affected, i.e. either killed outright or having their ability to adhere to their host reduced, through buildup of osmotic pressure due to contact with fresh water. Would love to hear whether that's correct!
