The one and only time I feel like I got him to sit down and think, which I am not sure lasted long, was when I said "How many apples makes a bunch?" when talking about video games uglifying women and adding woke shit.
They seem to genuinely take every single instance and make it an island unto itself as standard. Only the most egregious things need fixing or people getting fired, and other stuff is "not that bad" which is then used to look at people calling for systematic process change and think they're overreacting psychos.
A trillion coincidences and never a genuine conspiracy or agenda-driven set of actions. I think it takes genuine discomfort and abrupt repugnant change for normal people to pull away from the zeitgeist. The WLP Lemmings talk sums it up pretty well.
