I find this same strategy can be effective with conspiracy theorists: Don't go to their left, go their right

I forgot whose tweet or toot this was, but someone suggested that in response to,

"The moon landing was faked"

come back with,

"Wait, you believe the moon it real?!"

It's easier to recognize someone else's absurdity and can sometimes lead to self-reflection
