I think a lot of people fantasized about AI for the past six or seven decades without really considering the implications of it actually succeeding. Well, we're finding out now.
People losing their sense of purpose.
"Why read a book, AI can just summarize it."
"Any job I could do, AI can do better and cheaper."
"AI even writes and makes art better than I could."
Nothing being trustworthy.
"I don't know if that news is real or not, it's impossible to tell now. I don't even know if a human was involved in making the video or article."
"Was that line always in that TV show? I don't remember it being there. It seems out of place."
"I got a call from my brother, and it was his voice, but something seemed off. He sounded normal but he wanted me to send money somewhere."
And complete, total domination of humanity.
"The algorithms know more about me than I do."
"Even if I wanted to fight for freedom, they would know and stop me before I even tried."
"Every system--political, financial, law enforcement--has access to AI analysis of me and uses it against me."
