i run into this issue pretty much constantly with my parents. no amount of me calmly explaining my viewpoint seems to be able to sway them from "so youre just defending hamas terrorism?" and completely flipping their shit. trying to find the limits of their views and common ground between us results in even more stubbornness.

all that reassures me about this is that ive managed to build a community around myself made up of people who are much more reasonable about this than they are
