@GatitoJoseos m$ paint is neither free nor gratis, as it's proprietary software that you also pay for as part of the windows tax. -

@waifu If you've ever purchased a prebuilt computer, or someone has done so on your behalf, you have paid money for windows.
Even if you've carefully avoided paying for windows, if you've ever used it, you've paid for it with your freedom.
I value my freedom more than money really. -

@waifu >installed pirated windows
No, you didn't steal a storage medium with windows on it with the assistance of a boat, so you didn't pirate it.
Since it was gratis, you were happy to download and install an unauthorized copy of malware.
>freedom won't pay for my food
This kind of argument is nonsensical.
Any job, even ones where you don't use a computer will get you enough money for just food.
Even with a job that uses a computer, windows isn't very good at getting you money, as you burn huge amounts of time doing basic tasks on such a garbage OS. -

@Mirk0dex Reverse engineer what exactly?
There is little point reverse engineering most of microsoft's software as it's all hot garbage and you're not going to learn much aside from how badly it was programmed (although sometimes it's required, for example to figure out how to handle XML encoded dumps of memory structures in "open office xml" documents). -
