   Her bike, beige coat and white dog were an improvement over the broom and black cape and cat.

   Once in town, she quicky made acquaintances, and was soon offered coffee. They were mean already; a discrete spell finished her work.

   Then she headed back to her house on the hill, which only a few recognized as the outpost it was.

   There she stood, waiting by the window for the next tiny rise of petty evil to tackle.
