I would take burnout days off if I were still employed.
And get laid off again when someone calls the boss and throws a gigantic man-tantrum about being overwhelmed by "all the extra work" they have to do as a result, when they hardly do anything at all.
And while they take the same number of days off in retaliation, leaving me to get everything done (which I do without complaint) in one shift, I start to burn out again, but faster.

@homelessjun I've been there too. At least in two companies. I had enough, and left, because they don't want to do anything about it. I even ended up as the “bad guy”, so, yeah, I left since I was already the “bad guy”.

@homelessjun Also, if you can do the work of 2 to 4 people with no problem and complaints, you become the “bad guy” in their eyes.
The unfortunate thing is when those in position doesn't care to protect you, instead they'll tell you in your evaluation, “you haven't done enough, you can do better”. Like WTF, seriously?!

Interestingly, I run back and forth doing multiple tasks at the same time, get them all completed, while the complainer takes his time to do a single task all shift and then complains about having to work so hard. ? ?♀️ :akko_aaa:

@homelessjun Yep. I lost files, and there were edits to some records.
But fortunately, I always keep multiple copies somewhere, so when it became an issue, I showed them a few of the copies with the modified date of files intact.
The guilty parties hated me more. Unfortunately, the company can not find solid evidence of their manipulation so they got away. But it was obvious since those parties were the only ones who publicly show their office-politics.

@youronlyone I tried keep records, etc., but I did not persist. I was pretty dumb and naive. The politics and the propaganda differed and I chose to go along with the propaganda. It took me a long time to even realise the politics part and what was actually going on.

@homelessjun Ahh. Yeah, it is not easy. I just happen to notice the politics and all that because I've seen it happen in other people, in my previous companies. So when I became the target in a new company, I noticed what they were doing.
It's nasty, especially for us autistics who are there to just do our jobs.
There was even one company wherein I was told to “slow down” because my evaluations are too good, the rest of the team are looking “bad”.
But, I'm just doing my job. For me, the problem is not on the employee, rather, it's the metrics.
Since they don't want to update their metrics, and I don't want to look “bad”, I slowed down. When I did, suddenly I'm not doing anything and was slacking.

@youronlyone I almost got fired for being "too good--you're making everyone look bad." Got a written warning about it too. Twice.

I will never understand why doing your job, and being good at it, is bad. The problem lies with their metrics, not on the person.
It doesn't mean the other employees are not doing anything. It just is their pace. We all have our own pace. We have different principles. Simply put, we are human beings, not robots.
They should put the blame on the metrics, not on the people!
