   "Github" is a service as a software substitute, so it's mostly irrelevant as to what software runs on the servers.
   "Github" probably does use mostly free software on their servers, as that respects their freedom.
   
   The question you should be asking is as to why the JavaScript github.com serves is proprietary software.
   
   @nova@hackyderm.io That's some nice copyright infringement you pulled off with co-pilot there, but of course the serfs keep delivering more.
   
   It's also quite interesting how co-pilot wasn't trained on the source on "microsofts" software, is it almost like co-pilot could be induced to output a mostly identical copy of such source?

     Seems like @nova@hackyderm.io, the principal at GitHub apparently joined the fediverse! I can finally ask her some questions:
     1. If you're on mastodon then why doesn't GitHub have a Mastodon option thing you can add to your GitHub profile?
     2. Why isn't GitHub free/open source?
     3. Why do I always have to use 2FA if I'm connecting to GitHub using Tor?
