Last time I was banned by mastodon.social, the reason they told people was that I post child pornography. The incriminating picture was nailed down to be a pic of... Aina the End...

So to celebrate me being banned again, here's some child pron for you! Enjoy!

@kingu_platypus_gidora @miasmicfungus And I can't say I blame them. Idol bands are clearly made to flatter some questionable tastes specifically in adults. It's treading a very fine line which allows it to exist legally, but I don't mind people not wanting these pictures all over their server.

      @miasmicfungus I don't know.

I think they have issues with Idols in general...

@kingu_platypus_gidora Of course, but I believe you may be a little too involved with the subject matter to have a clear view of the bigger picture. In the West teenage bands/artists are clearly marketed towards teenage audiences, and they don't replace older members by younger artists to keep on the same aesthetic brand over time.

What I said is a generalization as well. Bands like Perfume or Shonen Knife (is it idol anymore?) don't tread the line I mentioned, but Band-Maid, Baby Metal and BiSH, absolutely, regardless of their musical talent which I don't dispute.

@hypolite Out of 5 bands mentioned only 2 are actually idols and none of them ever replaced an older member with a younger one.

The song "Nerve" (among other) is being sung by Bish and specifically address issues with the Japanese idol culture with the intend of denouncing it.

Two of the bands you mentioned started from very controlling agency and had to fight to gain their musical independence and are proud to have done so.

3 of the bands mentioned started with kids members that are now adults. There is not a single incident reported. No drug, no sextape no nothing...

This being said. Junior idols exists, gravure idols exists, the story of Rei Kuromiya is real but... Am I posting and encouraging this in any way?

Also, Idols are popular among teen too!. Both kids, teens and adults are welcome in the idol world!

@hypolite @kingu_platypus_gidora I feel like that's the baseline argument for everything. I will happily be the first to chime in and tell you that the idol industry needs *change*, it needs a radical re-examination of the inherent power imbalance that it is founded upon... but I'm hard pushed to name a single human interaction by way of transaction that doesn't require the same overhaul.

@miasmicfungus After @kingu_platypus_gidora 's elaboration, I'm more convinced it's a cultural difference between the West and at least Japan where we just can't conceive any healthy relationship between adults and children that isn't necessarily rooted in abuse.

@hypolite @kingu_platypus_gidora If I may: remember when a teenage pop star was manufactured around a hit song based on Nabokov's Lolita?

No, not Britney. The French one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliz%C3%A9e

@jkb @kingu_platypus_gidora Touché, I was too young at the time she became famous to realize she had an adult fandom. I did write her off as a for-teenagers artist at a time when I was listening to mostly symphonic metal.

@hypolite @kingu_platypus_gidora She's the same age as I (a couple months older even, but we're both born in 1984) and this whole image/persona made me uncomfortable back then.

*16 years old me* thought this whole thing was *too* sexual. That's something.

@hypolite @kingu_platypus_gidora it's good to have those doubts, as the worst so often happens, and, you know so often I think any kind of celebrity is a safeguarding issue, *sad smile*, but on a personal level, at the same time, I have literally cried shaking the hands of idols because their performances have got me through some really, really dark times, and I know in an ideal world, I shouldn't be asking a.) young people to shoulder this burden for me, an adult woman...
