   @alexandra@mk.nixnet.social i dont get what you want with these orphaned posts. why do you think they are all interesting? why should i keep a reply if the context of what it was replying to is lost?
   
   social media is not an archive in my opinion.
   
   technically misskey does something more complex than ON DELETE CASCADE, which is issuing delete activities for local content that will subsequently be deleted.

     @Johann150@genau.qwertqwefsday.eu ActivityPub has tombstones because there needs to be a stand-in for deleted objects so their references don't break or have to be cascade-deleted; rows whose children may remain interesting after the original is deleted should be able to be emptied of actual data and marked deleted without /actually deleting/ the row and breaking foreign keys, that or do something more complex than ON DELETE CASCADE for those kinds of tables.
     
     It's the same thing, for the same reason.

     aaargh misskey deleted the post I'm looking for because something somewhere on the in-reply-to chain was deleted
     
     this is not good behavior misskey WTF are you doing??
