     @GoodPerson @alex Its definitely bizarre. I also think it's unethical to amend a press release that was widely cited in reporting after the fact with zero indication it was amended. It makes it look like the journalists are lying about what Mastodon said rather than the other way around. It's standard to issue a Correction Notice when PRs are edited. I suppose it's possible Mastodon cannot afford a Comms person who knows this, but I think it's safe to assume the stealth edit is intended to deceive. ?♀️

     @alex they spent a lot of money on mob-proofing the infrastructure to be able to host thought crimes, you would think they'd want wider reach. I don't know what their issue with federation was. Maybe it cut into their narrative agenda, who knows.
