     @ethanschoonover I’m more inclined to say “2016 ActivityPub is for nerds”, since that’s when Mastodon was announced. But then again, I’m the sort of nerd who had an account on identi.ca. I was bored of distributed social networks by then.

     Nerds are trying to understand why managers are trying to cram language models into use cases where tooling from 15 years ago already provides better functionality at lower power consumption.
