   here's what i don't get... we have some of the most brilliant devs who understand new media really well here on masto. and they're all working on their own individual little activitypub experiments rather than getting together and working on a project that really fucking breaks our brains and redefines social media for the next decade. and i'm at a loss for why.

     @selfagency And yet, if you don't like the direction Mastodon is taking, you have the choice of a myriad of alternatives and still being able to communicate with accounts staying on Mastodon. And that's absolutely unheard of.

     @hypolite activitypub is a protocol. what's the medium? mastodon is one man's fiefdom.
