(1) I still suggest creating that legal fund (from that conversation on that other thread of ours).
(2) I think we should spend a little bit of money on a Starbucks gift card or two for the moderators. Since they're up late at night, we should at least reward their volunteering with some coffee. (Consider it volunteer appreciation!)
(5) Some of the other instances are launching other #fediverse instances, outside of Mastodon but with a continued relationship with the original instance. For example, @chad is working his way through a PeerTube project.
Maybe there's an opportunity to create some elements that can expose those on #MastodonWorld to other services that they hadn't consider yet? (PeerTube being just one example.)
(3) One big benefit of #MastodonWorld was that folks could have a 'landing pad' to then move to another instance. It might be worth it to have that sorting element, of finding their next instance or server, be brought into some form of ongoing inter-server #fediverse relationship building.
(4) I see you've launched the pool-appreciators instance... I think a very strong argument can be made to also create spin-off instances that naturally flow from #MastodonWorld and support point 3.
@ruud I plan to give a monthly sum next year. Ive never consider paying for social media but now this place is worth paying for in my opinion. I hope this don't sound bad but if there isa group of people paying for servers and more could we have "a vote" in keeping this place as far away from Twitter or other social media?
