@lauravivanco @dailywafflebooks @mom @willaful I’m paying attention to my feed and trying to to make it too big too fast so I can sus out people who are here vs. exclusive cross-posters. It’s odd how the “flavor” of a native fediverse post is becoming identifiable to me.
There are a few cross-posters I don’t mind because I follow them for informational reasons but the real conversation happening here is so precious and that’s what I’m seeking to build around me now.

@dailywafflebooks @mom @willaful Some people do crosspost from the other site but still engage here when someone responds to one of their posts. That's probably not quite the same as if they were here more, and responding to other members' original posts, but it's better than people who're only using the crossposting apps to broadcast here.
But authors may be trying to keep up engagement on Facebook, Instagram, Ticktok and their websites/blogs as well as here, which must be a lot of work.

@mom @willaful are you guys looking at how many users on this instance are actually active locally versus just crossposting?
A lot of the time the local timeline seems to be majority crossposts and this community will never grow that way. Or at least it'll be nothing but a broadcast channel for people who can't give up the bird app.
