Eclipse is okay for writing Java, but good luck using it to compile Java.
Have my superior makefile that just works.-

(If it would be just me I would ban Eclipse kind of IDEs, leaving only true Integration Development Environment, like say Plan9 acme and maybe emacs) -

Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: (lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me)'s status on Sunday, 11-Dec-2022 17:05:59 JST Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: So I land on something using the Eclipse IDE for building (what is a buildsystem?) and realize there's no source recipe in gentoo, only binary-based ones in overlays.
- binary package in NixOS, AUR, VoidLinux, …
- removed from Debian years ago
- fedora removed it a bit more than a year ago as it failed to build
- OpenSUSE seems to be building it from source, noticeably several versions behind and with a bunch of patches (including one for a CVE)
- Same for FreshPorts (FreeBSD) but without patches ⚠
- Massively outdated in pkgsrc
Absolute state of ruin there, it's dead to me.
