     My formerly best friend in elementary school snubbed me for a year because I would wave at friends, and his dad saw me wave at him picking him up from school and said it was faggy. His mom eventually noticed we weren't hanging out any more and asked him what happened, and told him to apologize to me and tell me what his dad said. After that I was a little aloof with him, but I never waved at anyone ever again after that
