inference (inference@plr.inferencium.net)'s status on Thursday, 18-Aug-2022 22:34:56 JST inference @cobratbq Manjaro has failed to renew their TLS (SSL) certificates 3 times, which is an extremely simple process.
They tell people to change their system clocks to bypass the security issue, which affects all time-based security on your system, all the way down to every website, doas/sudo, and even update installation.
They have DDoSed Arch Linux repos before because they misconfigured their package manager.
Manjaro has NO idea what it's doing. It is incompetent and is dangerous to use.- TeriRi likes this.

cobratbq - cranky-by-design (cobratbq@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 18-Aug-2022 22:54:46 JST cobratbq - cranky-by-design @GNUxeava @inference I only know about Manjaro because in early days they were the most well-prepared distro to run on Pinebook Pro. Had some nasty stuff happen so decided to go another route there.

inference (inference@plr.inferencium.net)'s status on Thursday, 18-Aug-2022 22:55:07 JST inference @GNUxeava @cobratbq I'm not even joking when I say it's safer to use Windows or macOS at that point, even for privacy. You literally cannot have privacy without security to protect that privacy. At least Windows and macOS don't tell you to change your system clock to bypass a security issue *they* created, allowing the entire world to MITM you and spoof everything you're doing. There is no authentication or security at all, making any "privacy" implementations meaningless since it can just be exploited. TeriRi likes this.
