    Is it just me or is VR just really unimpressive? I have no idea why anyone would consider it the next big thing in terms of productivity.

      @abrignoni @benjaminhollon There are efforts going on to separate the displays from the rest of the necessary hardware.
      One example of this are the nreal VR/AR glasses.

      @benjaminhollon that thing on the forehead is heavy, hot, & comes with a total lose of awareness of one's surroundings.

      I do believe there'll be a lot of actually useful AR applications in the near future.
      For example, one research paper shows that there's a substantial positive effect on elderly people, allowing them to more easily connect with far away family and improving eating habits.

      I definitely would be more okay with AR in my glasses; I wouldn't want full VR that way either though; I think full VR itself feels very overrated.

      *the paper focuses on VR, but their evidence suggests it would be better if implemented in AR*
