@hazlin@SuperSnekFriend@professionalbigot69 hello Brother in Christ. from Christ’s own mouth, we do not forgive those who do not repent of their trespasses against us, less so trespasses against our Lord & Master.
:bible_wh: Luke 17:3-4 Take heed to yourselves : If thy brother trespasse against thee, rebuke him, and if he repent, forgive him. And if hee trespasse against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turne againe unto thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.
offering forgiveness without repentance is not the Biblical model He gave us.
:bible_wh: Ephesians 4:32 And bee ye kinde one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
:bible_wh: Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrell against any : even as Christ forgave you, so also doe yee.
we are to forgive as God hath forgiven us, that is, in repentance & faith.
:bible_wh: Marke 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdome of God is at hand: repent ye, and beleeve the Gospell.
:bible_wh: Luke 13:3,5 I tell you, Nay : but except yee repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
:bible_wh: Actes 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and bee converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
He does not grant forgiveness to those of us who are stiff-necked and refuse to repent. we must recognize our sin and repent to receive and enjoy God’s merciful forgiveness. God requires repentance and therefore so must we.
when only one part of the forgiveness process takes place, the hurt felt by the offended one can lead to hatred, bitterness, and desire for revenge. because we desperately want relief from the gnawing desire to get even, we can be tempted to let an issue go, or “forgive” without ever confronting the person or waiting for him to show remorse.
it’s wrong, however, to assume that if we don’t forgive someone, we’ll be weighed down with hatred, bitterness, and revengeful desires. that’s not necessarily true because the Bible says we are to love a person regardless of whether or not he or she shows any remorse. we can love our enemies, but continue to have an unsettled issue with them. it is more loving to withhold forgiveness until a change of heart is demonstrated than it is to offer forgiveness without the offender’s acknowledgment of deliberate wrongdoing. without which acknowledgement, the offender will not be transformed by God which is after all why we’re here.
that was long, and you didn’t ask, but thank you for listening if you read this far. don’t beat yourself up trying to forgive the world unconditionally.
I agree in so far as reconciliation is concerned. If you try to restore someone to the relationship they had with you, without them turning away from being your enemy, you are in for a world of hurt xD And, I wasn't saying God should forgive them without their repentance.
But, while you may be able to carry anger for these people, and remain unaffected by hard judgements coming to mind every time you read about them, however it was wearing me down friend.
Either it is Enoch or Habakkuk, those who ask God why He has allowed the evil doers to "get away with it", they are all satisfied by His answer. Those evil will be justly rewarded, so much so that none will be able to say it is not enough, and it will be the same for the righteous, they will be rewarded so much so that none will be able to say it is not enough.
In the mean time, people will switch groups, maybe more than once, so it is not our concern, for we cannot even predict who will be accounted righteous, or full of iniquity on the great day of judgement.
And in so much as those who do evil, force God's intervention for my sake, and for your sake, they may be utterly destroyed and lose their change to find righteousness in Christ Jesus all together. (I have seen this IRL more than once)
And, we are not supposed to let our hearts be troubled by any of this, to be care free, and happy, and enjoying fellowship with Jesus and Jehovah, to enjoy the earnest payment of our Salvation that is our portion.
Same here, The other day I realized, it doesn't matter if the anger is justified, I am just not designed to carry it, and I started to ask Jesus to help me forgive, all the terrible people.
So now, even if someone posts some terrible thing, and if it upsets me, I am going to ask Jesus to be my help forgiving who ever it is xD
It feels a little irresponsible, but being a child about it, is the correct thing to do xD
