    "Lastpass says hackers accessed customer data in new breach"

    Use a password manager they said. For your safety, they said. You know whose data was never breached? My mom's. Who keeps her passwords written down at home, like they told us not to.

      @maltimore @utzer This practice is highly compromising in a shared space like an office. There have been enough TV interviews of people at their workplace where they got passwords written on labels or post-its in the frame.

      @Utzer I absolutely agree!
      But there was definitely a time when people who write their passwords down on paper were joked about.

      @maltimore why would anyone suggest to not write down passwords on paper? That is a valid and safe way to keep track of them. There is even an airgap as a firewall in the system.

      Do not even store your passwords online with a server side encryption or even without, so do not store them in your browser unless you really know what you're doing, to not use an online password manager!

      @hypolite threat specific thinking, there may be circumstances were having your password stored in a cloud is better than locally (synced between devices). I can't come up with one, but I am sure there is one. @maltimore

      @hypolite after that nuclear winter I can live without these passwords, my own devices that have the file are located 600km from each other in my two homes. @maltimore
