   I just had a crazy idea for fediverse profiles I have never seen implemented: what if instead of a followers number on your profile you had an "active followers number" so lets say my profile is followed by 1000 accounts, but 500 of them were from 2018 and 200 others are just people who abandoned their accounts then my account active followers might actually read something like 300

     @julien @liaizon Remove some a priori judgments. People will infer stuff based on anything. For example I've seen many "oh look, here's a two days old Mastodon account having thoughts about content warnings" takes. Maybe the thoughts are bad, but tying it to the account age is wrong. This date doesn't say anything about how long one has been around the Fediverse as moving accounts effectively resets it.

     @liaizon Of course but I believe it feeds the same cheap shots and toxic behaviors: "Why should I listen to you with your small number of followers?". Cue buying fake followers to artificially improve your social standing.

     @liaizon True, and I also think the account creation date on a decentralized network doesn't mean much either. Evan Prodromou's Mastodon account is a month old. What a noob!
