What a great articulation of the distinction between fixed and growth mindset.

@paninid Or between the life mindset and the cancer mindset?
@paninid I'm sure some people *mean well* with the concept of "growth mindset", but the idea that you need to be constantly growing and cannot accept limits is the mindset of a cancer cell not of a living being in equilibrium with their fellow beings and environment. It's the mindset of billionaires who are never satisfied with what they have no matter how many orders of magnitude above us that might be.
And when I hear it from business-minded folks, they definitely mean it in this way, not in any sort of healthy or well-meaning way.

@paninid I wonder if there are better metaphors for the healthy concept you have in mind that aren't so easily appropriated by capitalists justifying their behavior and ideology.
Got it! I definitely mean it in the healthy, well-functioning way.
I think there are a lot of people with a fixed/scarcity mindset and sustained exposure to someone who believes their ability to evolve or grow (whether a peer, mentor, or coach) can be life-changing.
