     You're wrong. Manga just means comics. Japanese would call a Bande dessinée a manga. In English we've borrowed those terms like BD, manga, manhwa and so on.
     
     Sorry, the French can absolutely have this one.

     In Japanese anime means all animated cartoons, in English it just means animated cartoons from Japan.
     
     Similar to how same word for "taking a shit" in Dutch means "having sex" in Flemish. Neither are wrong, they just speak a different language.
