NBC News: Tesla says first responders may need to push new Cybercab with no steering wheel
Tesla’s emergency guidance tells first responders the robotaxi “can be quickly pushed” to clear a lane but warns that doing it incorrectly risks electric shock and overheating the motor.

@ai6yr I was just thinking about the guy who swiped a tank, I think in San Diego, and went on a joy ride, crushing cars. I don't know why I would think of this right now.

and the power cutoff is "situated behind two steel panels" and is difficult to access

What the heck is "appropriate PPE" for not being decapitated by a door spring, I wonder. 🤔 I suppose maybe it will only remove your kneecap or break your arm if it hits you?

I wonder how heavy these doors are... How buff do you need to be to get this sucker open manually?
"...The interior door handles of Cybercab have two detents, with the second detent acting as the emergency mechanical release. To open the Cybercab doors from the inside without low voltage power, completely lift the door handle to engage the mechanical release. Then, push the door outwards and upwards. The door will be heavy and will not remain open. The window may crack or break if still rolled up. Hold open or prop up the door so that the door doesn’t swing closed...."

ps. would not recommend getting in the trunk of one of these, even as a joke. Particularly in Houston during a heatwave... 😬
