     @witix@mk.absturztau.be I have a feeling these are some proprietary bullshit applications that hide their notification settings really well because they want to keep sending notifications. Tech literacy doesn't mean anything if you're dealing with malware because the programs deliberately hide how they work from you.
     
     I am tech literate as can be; I know how to reverse engineer C programs from x86 assembly. But do you think I can find the damn "disable notifications" button on my Mom's iPhone? Hell no.

     @yura@udongein.xyz @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyodisabling at least some ads in built-in android system apps on XiaomiBut that is a task much more difficult than what I can only assume to be muting notifications from the given context. Removing bloat with adb or installing an app that uses android's VPN functionality to block ads is maybe easy, especially for us, but definitely not the same as going into the volume settings and changing a slider :neodog_facepalm:

     @witix@mk.absturztau.be @yura@udongein.xyz Phone manufacturers should make you have to "debloat" your phone in the first place. This is a problem they created themselves.

     @witix @SuperDicq always have been.
     It just were separate websites with the same manual, now it got scrapped and shown by a chatbots.
     
     I also used similar manuals before for a tasks like disabling at least some ads in built-in android system apps on Xiaomi.
