Several schools across Florida, Georgia, and Colorado are piloting "Campus Guardian Angels", remotely operated drones that can reach a shooter within 15 seconds, traveling at 60 mph, smashing through windows, and blasting pepper spray, sirens, and flashing lights. The drones are teleoperated from Austin, Texas, but serious questions remain about misidentification risks.

@TimWardCam Most other countries think freedom is living life without thinking about guns and gun violence. @Huntn00 @lankohr @kibcol1049

@Huntn00 @lankohr @kibcol1049 It's also differing understandings of the world "freedom", as to whether it means "freedom to" or "freedom from".

Americans take it to mean the "freedom to" shoot whoever you like.

Most other peoples take it to mean the "freedom from" getting shot by other people.

@lankohr @TimWardCam @kibcol1049 Yet this exact argument is used by pro-free reign gun people against gun control, as if it’s the bad people are the problem, as if this isn’t what gun control tries to address.
The reality is a person is good until they’re bad and the precautions to address ‘bad’ people would have to include mental screening that a lot of ‘my liberty’ people would object to. 1:2

@kibcol1049 Yet another proposed bonkers technical solution to a people problem.

It's the guns. Get rid of the guns.

@TimWardCam @kibcol1049 Weapons don't kill people. People kill people.

      It's a sad misused truth.

Guns increase the potential scope for violence just by being in the situation as an available tool to 'resolve' it. They're also a psychological trigger, ramping up anxieties, expectations, and giving the owner a sense of power and entitlement. Think about road rage. Gun rage is even worse.
