     I'm tryin', mate. So fuckin' hard. But the cognitive dissonance _is a bitch_. 2026 has been a rough year; those disclosures in Jan/Feb almost broke me.

     As they should've.

     But I don't know what the fuck to do. No one in my life likes me when I try to work through any of this out loud.

     @aral I get the sentiment, believe me; goodness knows there's no shortage of terrible examples of this pursuit around the world.

     But digital sovereignty, which is effectively sovereignty, now, is under threat. The EU needs to be able to compete in a whole host of areas, including financial services, AI, etc.

     But be skeptical, absolutely! I'm encouraged by the plans referencing JUPITER (cc @fzj_jsc) as the standard to meet re #green sustainable computing. But we can't be complacent either!
