   Fabric used to be precious, and people repaired their clothes and used old garments to make new ones. We live in a totally different world now and fabric, most of it synthetic, costs so little ppl just throw away their clothes and linens. I hate that world, and I don't want to participate. I'm not a great seamstress (how I hate the gay term "sewist") and sewing is a slow, multi-stepped process, but it's satisfying all the same.

     Yay!! I had to repoast so I could easily find you from here. Fabric is my favorite medium to create with. I used to make a ton of skirts (pockets!!). Made the mocs, too, but ya, a-line skirts are easy and you can choose the length you want.

     Recycling clothes and scraps is how I make my favorite quilts!!! My great grandmother made one of these for every grand and great grand. I love that i can carry on this art in her honor. This is the one I made for my grandfather a few years before he left us.
